Doggie Bath Time!
If you can remember all the way back to Memorial Day weekend you'll remember that it was not the perfectly clear and sunny weekend the weathermen told us it would be. You might also remember that we went camping Sunday evening... with the doggies.
Let me share an interesting fact with you: muddy ground = muddy dogs = muddy everything!
Given this re-discovered fact, we decided to stop by the Super Pantry Gas Station & Car Wash on Towanda Barnes Rd. to check out their dog wash.
It was a really nice set-up with 2 dog washing stations in a contained, but well ventilated area. And it was so nice not have to worry about cleaning up a messy bathroom at home, BUT it cost us $11 to get Mia cleaned and mostly dry and that's a bit steep for me. Admittedly, she was a lot muddier than usual and she is a rather large dog (115lbs), but she is so well behaved it would be almost just as easy to wash her down with the garden hose. Also, the dogs still have to climb 3 larger steps to get into the dog wash which makes it nice that you don't have to bend over when washing, but it's just as hard as trying to get a big dog into the bathtub (at least with Mia it was).

To summarize: My review is mixed. If you don't want the mess at home it's a great option, but considering the price it won't be an option we use very often.
Callie got her bath in the tub when we got home and I had a video clip of how crazy she goes after a bath, but my clip won't work so here's just a random pic of how cute she is!

Happy Birthday to... Great Harvest Bread Company?!
Yesterday over lunch hour I was running errands and decided to stop by one of my favorite places, Great Harvest Bread Company, for a lunch pocket. I usually get their very delicious pepperoni pocket, but today I switched things up and got the spinach pocket - which was also delicious! But back to my real story...
There were 2 younger guys working and the one helping me informed me that today was Great Harvest's birthday and if I sang Happy Birthday to the store I'd get a free cookie...
Instantly my mind became chaos...
"I love a good deal and free is a great deal!"
"but there's no one else in the store and I'm a horrible singer and by horrible I mean downright atrocious!"
"I sure do love cookies though!"
So being the reasonable person that I am I asked the nice guy...
"Can I just say Happy Birthday"
Of course he said NO... so I hemmed and hawed a bit and now both workers were grinning from ear to ear... they decide to sweeten the pot and tell me the cookie I'll get is carmel chocolate chip and worth $1.50! So I tried...
"What if you 2 sing it with me?"
Of course they said NO... so I hemmed and hawed some more and it was on the tip of my tongue to lie and say I didn't really feel like dessert today, but either the fear that God would forever remind me of that little lie or the fact that my genetic craze for bargains must be bigger than my fear of complete embarrasement I began...

"Happybirthdaytoyou"
I was sweating, I was beet red, but I was also laughing along with the 2 guys and happy I'd stepped out of my comfort zone even if my main motivation was a free cookie!

Moraine View Camping
We went camping for a night over Memorial day weekend at Moraine View State Park. It was lots of fun, a little muddy, and I took zero pictures. I appologize immensly :(

Up next... a doggie car wash and why dogs only stay clean for 5 tiny seconds!!
Moraine View was a fun place to camp, especially in the company of friends! We did the primitive camping and it only costs $6 a night. You can even gather the fallen wood for your fire, making this one of the cheapest camping options in this area. They have some beautifully wooded camp sites that make you feel like you're on your own, but aren't a horribly far walk either.

Ready... Set... Go!
All systems are GO for our bathroom remodel summer project seen here. We hope to get a huge chunk of the work completed this weekend so hopefully I'll be able to post progress pics next week!
That's means in just a few short days I'll have a dream bathroom that looks like this...
... I wish!!! But at least we won't own a brown toilet or shell shaped sink anymore!

New project alert!
I've been dying to try some furniture refinishing lately, especially after seeing this awesome server (found here).
So... last week I picked up this rocking chair at a garage sale for $5. That means even if it's totally destroyed during my refinishing attempts I'll still be able to afford to feed my family. Bonus! :)
My rocker is oversized and has strong lines so I want to stick with a neutral paint color instead of picking a more "delicate" color (like lime green or lemon yellow).
I always do best with a picture example and found this lovely redo to use as my inspiration piece (found here).
Now I just have to wait until both Annie, my partner in crime, and I have free time (so probably in the next two or three years!).
Any votes for a particular color?
