closet organization

Our hall closet was a mess! So much wasted space, but with so much potential.

The goal was to clean it up, keep needed items (like dog food and plastic bags) easy to get to and move less used items to the garage storage Kevin built over the summer.

We also needed to be able to easily remove any added shelving, because the attic access is in this closet.

TA DA!!!

We added wheels to a heavy duty shelving unit, a door storage unit & a plastic bag storage container.

We can fit sooo much more in this little closet space now and it's all easy to get to and easy to roll out if we need to get into the attic!

Kevin & I keep saying to ourselves "why didn't we do this sooner?"!

to add to annie's post about CLUE halloween

Important: See Annie's post about the Hansen Mansion Halloween CLUE party!

These are just a few more pictures since I didn't play the game (cause I knew all the clues).
Note: I did not do a very good job taking pics... I pretty much took a nap on the couch instead :)

Hard at work to uncover a CLUE

Switch 3 full stacked soda can and 3 stacked empty soda cans from one hand to another without putting them down

Stack 3 golf balls on top of each other

Bounce a quarter into a shot glass, a solo glass & a pitcher

Balance 5 dice on a popsicle stick held in your mouth

Solve a brain teaser

Charades
(Note: Brock was acting out Michael Phelps with swimming motions!)

That's it! Again, be sure to read Annie's post for all the details!

It was an awesome party and I can't wait to plan another party with Katie!

groovy sweetness

Just wanted to share these fun cookies I made and Kevin helped me decorate!

Aren't they groovy???

We made 6 bright and beautiful icing colors
(thanks to Eric & Casey for the dyes!)

The meringue icing recipe I used (from here) was very easy to make and work with, but it was also very sweet.
I would definately add vanilla or almond flavoring next time to amp it up a bit.

My inspiration & instructions for decorating came from here (same place as the icing recipe)

Yes, it took some time and no, they aren't nearly as groovy smooth as my inspiration pics.

But! They were easy to do... pretty much as easy as coloring, but instead of crayons you are using icing!

And aren't they just the most groovy sweetness you've ever eaten seen?

a pro's view

I could spend hours looking through wedding photos; mine, a friend's, someone I don't even know. I think it's because everyone is always so happy and looking their best for this special day of pictures! ;)

Of course, not everyone is as obsessed as I am, so I picked just my favorites, taken by Sarah's professional photographer, to share with you.

Most of them are just too pretty for explanations, but on a couple I just couldn't help myself!

I can't remember what was happening here, but I'm sure the photographer said to "act natural" cause this looks like a look I'd give one of my sisters!

I'm so impressed with the straight faces in this picture, because all of us girls were dying laughing in the background!

hello fall colors

We love the big tree in our front yard!

It's always the first tree on our street to announce that fall has arrived and it does so in all the glorious fall colors possible!

It's time for apple cider & pumpkin flavored everything!
